Allegan, MI – The campaign office of Mike Villar, candidate for Allegan County Prosecutor, is raising serious concerns about ongoing mismanagement and inefficiency under the current administration led by Prosecutor Myrene Koch. In a disturbing pattern that signals deeper issues within the office, two more assistant prosecutors have resigned in the past two weeks. This brings the total number to 20 departures (19 resignations and 1 firing) during Koch’s six-year tenure.
“The continuous loss of assistant prosecutors is alarming and unprecedented in Allegan County. It is a clear indication of major systemic issues within the office," said Mike Villar. "Such high turnover not only disrupts our justice system but also wastes taxpayer dollars and decreases the effectiveness of our legal processes. We must address the root causes of this instability and implement strategies that will restore integrity and trust in the office.”
The frequent resignations by assistant prosecutors point to a troubled environment and poor management that cannot retain skilled legal professionals. These departures have left the prosecutor’s office struggling to maintain continuity and effectiveness, resulting in significant losses in court trials and a general decline in the administration of justice in Allegan County.
